Bartier Bros. The Orchard Row 2018

Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOrchard Row began life as the Bartier family house wine, but after being pressured by friends who no doubt drank copious amounts, the family was convinced to release this wine to the public. The blend is a 17/16/33/33/ mix of hand-harvested cabernet franc, merlot, gamay noir and pinot noir. Strange bedfellows indeed, but somehow it works. The combination spent 15 months in neutral French oak barrels and was bottled at 13.2% alcohol by volume. Expect a dark fruit wine with a peppery leafy underside and juicy black plum, black raspberry topping. The textures are mostly soft and round with just a dusting of tannin to shed — a perfect wine for summer barbecue meats and most fall menu items requiring red wine.Tasted: 13 June 2020Tasted by: Prices:
