Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada2018 is a solid followup to 2017 for this Naramata merlot that offers more red fruit than black. The acidity is bright, and the oak in check, allowing a mix of black plum and black raspberry and even a hint of black currant to push through. It’s more juicy and friendly than complex, but just fine for mid-term drinking. Pair with grilled chicken, hamburgers, and even better, a mushroom pizza.
