Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaBizou + Yukon Savvy Franc is an amusing offering from the folks at Okanagan Crush Pad, where they take most things wine, very seriously. The Great Pyrenees who tend to the sheep all night and day are a sight to behold in the vineyard, and have been honoured with a series of dog labels that will no doubt have appeal to the large sector of the dog-loving wine-drinking public. The blend is a mix of merlot, cabernet sauvignon, and cabernet franc, wild fermented and aged in concrete. The result is a sweet, fragrant, dark fruit nose that spills across the palate with light, grippy tannins and black fruit flavours.
