Domaine de la Mordorée La Dame Rousse Lirac 2017

Lirac, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceFrom 40 year old vines on galets, sand and red clay, this is equal parts syrah and grenache, fermented in aged in stainless. Crushed plum, fresh cassis, wild blackberry, anise, thorns flood this juicy red, fuller in frame but held aloft with a spire of acidity that draws the black and white peppery fruit to a lingering finish. Tannins are ample but fine, gripping the sides to a spiced finish. Beauty balance and finesse, drinking well now but will continue to cellar over the next few years.Tasted: 26 April 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
