Yalumba Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Coonawarra, South Australia, AustraliaA dry, warm year is always welcomed in Coonawarra, promoting fewer disease pressures and riper fruit. The fruit hails from the terra rossa soils of The Menzies Estate in Coonawarra and its matured in French oak, adding a dollop of style. It is is a very friendly cab with juicy, ripe berries and soft textures throughout. It’s fun to drink now and will likely be best over the next three to five years. Osso Bucco is the winery match, but grilled lamb chops would be equally inviting with this forward red. The vines at Menzies are closing in on forty years of age and usually present in small bunches and small berries.Tasted: 16 March 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
