La Tour Gallus Fleur de Gabbro Muscadet Sevre et Maine Sur Lie 2015

Muscadet, Pays Nantais, Loire, FranceLa Tour Gallus was established in Gorges in 1680. Today, there is a 16ha vineyard of melon de bourgogne, shaped by the Atlantic marine breezes, and grown on the magmatic rock called gabbro. The grapes for Fleur de Gabbro were planted in 1959 and 1968, were native fermented, and then aged in glass-lined containers on lees. Characteristically tightly strung, with that welcome layer of lees to counter the slender palate to the snappy finish. Ample minerality rings throughout, with green apple, lemon peel, green melon over river stones. Super saline on the finish, alongside a refreshing 12 degrees, makes this easily drinkable.Tasted: 03 March 2020Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
