Robin Ridge Organic PnG 2017

Keremeos, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPassetoutgrain, or throw it all in, sounds as much fun as this wine is to drink. PnG is a nod to the French blend of pinot noir and gamay, described by Punch magazine as 'the rhythm of Beaujolais and the soul of Burgundy'. It’s a gamay with an underbelly of softer, richer, darker fruit to infuse the wine with a bit of weight. But it is the Similkameen, so no need to worry that this wine will ever become overbearing. In this case, the floral, mineral, stony nose previews a figgy raspberry jam palate spiked with blueberries. The winery suggests serving it with grilled Italian sausage, and my mouth is watering. Simple, well-made, classy and ready-to-drink = my favourite combination. Good value too.Tasted: 22 February 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
