Rodney Strong Upshot 2017
Sonoma County, California, United StatesUpshot is winemaker Justin Seidenfeld's (of Rodney Strong) affair, taking its cue from the name: a red blend thought to be the final or eventual positive outcome or conclusion of a discussion, action, or series of events. It’s all Sonoma County fruit, predominantly Alexander Valley and Knights Valley. The unique blend in 2017 is 31/31/30/5/3 zinfandel, merlot, malbec, riesling, and petit verdot, and most of it was picked before the devastating October fires. The style is soft, round and fruity, the flavours seriously drinkable and fun. It is a real hamburger red. Its hipster label chronicles the life of the wine from start to finish and it is accompanied by a screw cap closure for easy access. Well done Justin, and just what a party needs.Tasted: 19 January 2020Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $29.99 | 750ml | estimated retail |
