Rodney Strong Upshot 2016
Sonoma County, California, United StatesUpshot is a Justin Seidenfeld affair. Taking after its name, this new red blend from Rodney Strong is thought to be the final or eventual positive outcome or conclusion of a discussion, action, or series of events. It’s all Sonoma County fruit and predominantly Alexander Valley and Knights Valley. The unique blend in 2016 is 37/30/27/3/3/ zinfandel, merlot, malbec, petit verdot and riesling (!!). The style is soft and fruity, round and drinkable, sophisticated to a point, but not overly complex. Fun to drink would be its best descriptor. The hipster label that chronicles the life of the wine is accompanied by a screw cap closure for easy access. Very barbecue-party friendly.Tasted: 26 January 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $29.99 | 750ml | estimated retail |
