Quails' Gate Riesling Icewine 2014

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis is just beginning to show some evolution, with baked tropical fruits, honey, beeswax, and lemon curd. The palate is pristine and precise, with laser-like, zippy acidity that really refreshes the palate and miraculously manages to cut through the 248 g/L residual sugar (!). This makes for an interesting comparison to the Noble One, and shows the clear stylistic differences between Icewine and botrytis-affected wines, with the former showing much more varietal character and demonstrating why high-acid riesling is so adept at making great sweet wines.Tasted: 11 January 2020Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss MWPrices:
