Dei Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2015

ItalyCaterina Dei runs this 55ha estate divided between the zones of Martiena, Bossona, La Ciarliana and La Piaggia on the slopes of the hill of Montepulciano. The winery was initially founded by her grandfather in 1964. This full red blends 10% canaiolo into sangiovese, and from vineyards planted in 1940 and 1955. After a native ferment in steel, this aged in large Slavonian oak casks for two years, followed by 6 months' rest in bottle. Lusty red florals, dark raspberry, juicy plum and medicinal cherry draw long and slow along the palate,Tasted: 18 December 2019Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
