Bartier Bros. Cabernet Franc Cerqueira Vineyard

Bartier Bros. Cabernet Franc Cerqueira Vineyard 2018

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis franc has just been released, and even though it is 2018, it has that Bartier finesse that makes it approachable at release. The fruit comes off the Black Sage Terrace home site, Cerqueira Vineyard. Bartier mixes ten percent merlot into the wine to keep it supple and round, but it’s the savoury black fruit and leafy flavours of the cabernet franc that makes this wine work. It’s native fermented, on skins for a day, and aged one year in French oak barrels. Look for black plums and a persistent herbaceous undertow that runs through a polished finish dotted with baking spices. Tasted twice already and it is looking very friendly.Tasted: 21 December 2019Tasted by: Prices: BC 25.99 BCLS AB 21.99 private wine shops Producer: Bartier Bros.Distributors: Winery Direct
