Masi Brolo Campofiorin Oro 2014
Verona, Veneto, ItalyThis is made in the same Ripasso-style as Campofiorin, but with the addition of the indigenous oseleta variety, which was rediscovered by Masi. It also sees time in small casks. It pours a deep ruby colour with dark fruits, chocolate, gobs of spice, and a certain rustic charm. Medium-bodied and lively with blocky tannins, it's an honest red wine that's meant for the dinner table. I'm thinking pasta bolognese.
