Finca El Encinal Roble 2016

Ribera del Duero, Castilla-Leon, SpainThis tempranillo has been aged for six months in 50/50 American and French oak. The nose is fairly muted, with stewed black fruits that are on the verge of being oxidized as well as a sappy, green note, likely from the American oak. The oak is forceful, and sits on top of the fruit right now. It needs time to allow the oak to further integrate, and tame the harsh, woody tannins, but I don’t know if the fruit is there to provide the requisite ageability.Tasted: 17 November 2019Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss MWPrices:
