Gérard Bertrand Aigle Royal Chardonnay 2018

Limoux, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceDomaine de l'Aigle is a 47‐hectare estate located in the northernmost part of the Haute Vallée de l'Aude, ranging between 250 and 500 metres above sea level. L'Aigle Royal comes off a block of vines rooted in clay‐limestone soil, south-facing, at the property's highest elevation. The vineyard is densely planted to 1250 to 1500 vines per hectare to keep the vines under control and produce wines of exceptional quality. The vines are trained up espalier style to ensure optimal exposure to sunlight and perfectly ripe grapes. Aigle Royal is always expressive on the nose with fruity, peachy notes followed by creamy textures and pastry and marzipan in the finish. This wine has the elegance, acidity and minerality to age gracefully. Look out, Burgundy. Poultry, fish, or mushrooms all work here.Tasted: 09 October 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
