Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalThis blend of viosinho, códega do larinho, and gouveio comes mostly from the Douro Superior, with 20% from the Baixo Corgo, and all from vines 580-700m. This was whole bunch pressed, then fermented and aged in stainless for 6 months on lees. Quince, yellow apple, broken stones fill a voluminous lees-lined palate, brightened with orange pith and textured by fine grippy mineral spicing. The palate is taut with a bracket of racy minerality, the hum of which lingers on the finish.
