Castello di Albola Acciaiolo Toscana 2015

Tuscany, Italy2015 was a solid vintage, and the cabernet sauvignon (80) and sangiovese (20) harvest began during the first week of October. The vineyard is one of many takes of Tuscany's Alberese clay-limestone soil sourced from the floor of the ocean in the Pliocene Epoch. Post-fermentation, the ageing runs 14 months in first and second-use barrels, followed by a further 12 months in the bottle. Lok for a woodsy aroma dotted with spice and licorice. On the palate, wild berries and plums lead the way with an earthy, licorice undercurrent. The styling is Italian elegant making it very food-friendly. Think roasts, game or mushroom pasta or risotto dishes.Tasted: 14 September 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
