Brewer-Clifton Santa Rita Hills Chardonnay 2017

Santa Rita Hills, Santa Ynez Valley, Santa Barbara County, Central Coast, California, United StatesBrewer Clifton surprises from the glass, blending four diverse sites to create a storytelling Sta. Rita Hills label. This blend contains fruit from 3D, Machado, Acin, and Hapgood vineyards, each handled in a manner to respect its origin and innate styling. The nose is surprisingly fresh, offering up citrus, kiwi, and orange blossoms that spill onto the palate with mineral, saline, lime rind notes. Essentially dry, it calls for food in a way most California chardonnay does not. The goal is to protect the origin and showcase the intensity, complexity, and specificity of this mix of sites and clones, and it is done with ease. Delicious styling and ready to drink, or hold through 2027. It was a perfect match with a summer pasta dish featuring fresh cherry tomatoes and basil sauce with aged Reggiano.Tasted: 09 May 2020Tasted by: Prices:
