Tendu Mataro 2018

Yolo County, California, United StatesCalifornia cool / low-interventionist iconic producer Matthiasson Family Vineyards came up with the Tendu line so he could make vibrant, top quality wines in an affordable, everyday drinkable way. These wines have no fining, filtration or added sulphur, and are meant to be drunk upon release (abundantly). Purple and blue florals, wild blueberries, thorns and dusky perfumed plum glide through this medium bodied (12 degree) mataro (also known as mourvèdre, and monastrell, neither of which are known in the states any more than mataro). Tannins are muddied and softly grippy, cushioning the fruit to a stony, lightly nutmeg spiced finish. Beauty with a chill.Tasted: 25 August 2019Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
