Tantalus Bear Chardonnay

Tantalus Bear Chardonnay 2018

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA new label for Tantalus, replacing the Juveniles Chardonnay, Bear is the nickname of Eric's eldest son. Fruit comes off their young seven year old vineyard, is native fermented, and aged in a mix of stainless and older French barrels. The result is a lovely mix of crystalline lemon, verbena, polished stone, pineapple rind, green apple with a thin cushion of fine lees and a scent of smoky flint. The balance is impeccable, and the acidity pitch perfect. Smart, tidy, and ready to drink, but also capable of sitting on for a couple of years.Tasted: 02 May 2019Tasted by: Treve RingPrices: BC 19.30 winery direct, private wine shops Producer: Tantalus VineyardsDistributors: The Wine Syndicate
