Masi Tupungato Passo Doble 2016
Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaOpen, aromatic, earthy, meaty nose with warm black fruit. The blend is an 85/15 mix of malbec and lightly dried corvina Veronese. The latter gives it a warm, luxurious texture. Sweet cherries and spice fill the nose and the palate. Drying the grapes make sense in cool, wet years like 2016, but the Argentines should be careful not to overdo it. The rich raisins, black fruit laced with liquorice, and a touch of reduction should be served with older cheeses and big meaty pasta.Tasted: 21 March 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $14.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
