Clos du Soleil Saturn 2017
Keremeos, Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis sauvignon blanc was late harvested by hand from 22-year-old vines in the very early morning of November 4, 2017. The fruit was gently pressed and fermented for 60 days in mostly old, neutral, French oak puncheons, and then aged on its lees until bottling. The nose is expansive, packed full of deep peach, apricot and floral notes that spill onto an intense lime, mandarin, pear palate that is intense and long with a beautiful juicy, spicy and savoury finish that pulls it all together. Wow; easily one of the best late harvest wines made in North America. Fresh fruit tart is the match.Tasted: 20 December 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $28.90 | 375ml | winery direct, private wine shops |
