Synchromesh Cachola Family Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2017
Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThough Alan Dickinson and Synchromesh is legend for riesling, they also produce high quality reds, like this single vineyard cabernet franc. Cachola Family Vineyards is a 2.5 acre site north of Oliver, tucked into the gravelled clay base of a steep slope. Similar to 2014 in its aromatic intricacies, and slightly cloudy with its authenticity, this draws smoked berries, dusky forest, wild mushroom, pipe tobacco along an angular, savoury palate. This reminds me of a Loire / Douro lovechild, and in my opinion, the best Cachola Franc to date.
