Mac Forbes Syrah 2016
Yarra Valley, Victoria, AustraliaFrom the winery's silt stone and clay clad home block in Yarra Valley's Healesville, this was five percent whole bunch, native fermented and spent 11 months in French oak before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. Murky, dark, brooding fruit, with darts of anise, waves of saddle and hints of thorns, this benefits from ample decanting. Tannins are soft, as is the palate, with an undercurrent of herbs and trail of baking spices. This was the inaugural release of this wine, from a label already very well known for chardonnay and pinot noir.Tasted: 29 October 2018Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:BC | $36.00 | 750ml | private wine shops |
