Cambria Pinot Noir Julia's Vineyard 2015

Santa Maria Valley, Santa Barbara County, Central Coast, California, United StatesJulia’s Vineyard was named for Julia Jackson back in 1988, almost twenty years after the original fog-covered pinot noir vines were planted at the Santa Maria site over ancient soils full of fossilized seashells, shale, limestone and sand. The site is unique in that it boasts one of the longest growing seasons in California. The fruit is intense, showing ripe black raspberry and blueberry flecked with red notes of cranberry and pomegranate and classic brown baking spice. A hedonistic, California pinot noir that is rich and mouth-filling. The wine is mix of clones including: 4, 2A, 23, 667, 115, 777 and 828 that are barrel aged 8.5 months in French oak, 31 percent of which is new. Salmon, mushroom risotto, duck, spicy meatballs, roasted chicken and root vegetable are all fine matches.Tasted: 24 October 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
