Tantalus Old Vines Riesling Brut 2015

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaRiesling sparkling wine is always a head turner and this 200-case offering from southeast Kelowna is a prime example. It comes off a single old block planted in 1978. The nose is aromatic in a good way with notes of grapefruit marmalade and fresh baked yeasty bread before a stony minerality fills in the edges. On the palate it jumps with electricity, green apple, chalk and again a stony mineral citrus thread that pulls it tight. It has a long future ahead of it with proper cellaring. The base wine was refermented in bottle for two years before a Spring 2018 disgorging and a light dosage of the 2015 Old Vines Riesling. You will have hard time finding something that doesn’t pair with this real wine.Tasted: 31 July 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
