Hester Creek Terra Unica Semillon 2017

Golden Mile Bench, Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaWhy is semillon not planted more often in BC? It seems to excel in the soils and climate of the Okanagan, and I'd love to see it from Similkameen and further. This wine is an excellent example of potential fulfilled. From 20-year-old vines on their estate Golden Mile Bench, this was lightly crushed, pressed and fermented cool for 18 days in stainless,. It was aged briefly on fine lees, and left unoaked to allow the pure fruit to shine. THANK YOU. Here we can clearly see sem's oily/waxy sheen, bedding ripe pear, honey, yellow apple, perfumed lilies, and pink grapefruit zest. The palate is seamless and the body is full (14%) to a warming, spiced finish. I'd love to see this carry a bit less ripeness / RS / alcohol in future, as it doesn't need it. Beautiful fruit. Well done. 155 cases made, and a Bench Club subscription.Tasted: 18 July 2018Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
