Fitz Brut Sparkling Wine 2015

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe warmest year since 1998, 2015 challenged every winery in the Okanagan, and especially sparkling wine producers who live off a high acid base. It was still full steam ahead at Fitzpatrick where they are committed to vintage bubble using the traditional method, and 100 percent estate grown grapes from the Greata Ranch Vineyard located between Peachland and Summerland. As it turns out the wine is brighter and fresher than you would expect in such a warm year. The chardonnay and pinot noir are partially barrel-fermented in older wood and spend two years on lees in the bottle. Expect a rich, savoury mix of licorice, green apple skins, yeasty limon streaked with strawberry, hazelnuts and a mineral undercurrent. Impressive and ready to drink.Tasted: 31 July 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
