Catena Cabernet Sauvignon High Mountain Vines 2015

Mendoza, ArgentinaFrom a selection of five higher altitude vineyards within Mendoza, this lot is a blend of 90 percent cabernet sauvignon splashed with cabernet franc and petit verdot. A bit reduced upon opening so be sure to get it into a decanter for 30 minutes or fully aerate your glass pour. Cedar infiltrates fresh red fruits (plums, cherries), with a push through by ample medicinal blackberries and perfumed tayberries. The juicy mid palate is a touch over-sunned and soupy this year, though acidity is still bright. Tannins are sueded, supporting the fruit just enough. Always a reliable producer, and wine. Perfect for most any meaty or mushroom-laden dish.Tasted: 24 July 2018Tasted by: Treve Ring & Anthony GismondiPrices:
