JoieFarm Chardonnay Un-Oaked (ii) 2017
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaTime at Niagara’s 2017 International Cool Climate Chardonnay Celebration (i4c) led winemaker Heidi Noble to hyper oxidize (hyperox) all her press pan juice - particularly this 2017 chardonnay. The result is a concentrated white with lemon curd, red apple, tropical florals, pineapple rind, applesauce, and honeydew melon that sits with some weight on the palate, though kept in check with 13.4 degrees alcohol and freshness from no malolactic fermentation.
