Zena Crown Slope Pinot Noir 2014

Oregon, United StatesSourced from several blocks within Zena Crown Vineyard it is a mix of Pommard 4 and 667 clones off 11-year-old vines. It’s aged 16 months in French oak barrels of which 84 percent are new with medium and medium-plus toast levels. The final bottling is considered the absolute best from the vineyard as chosen by winemaker Shane Moore. The colour is darker than normal the nose opens with savoury, fragrant dark fruit with notes of forest floor, cedar/leather notes. Richer black fruit notes mixed with smoke and spice feed into a long finish. Complex and dry, this would be perfect with duck. Jackson Family Wines purchased the Zena Crown Vineyard just west of Salem in 2013 and work with winemakers Tony Rynders and Shane Moore.Tasted: 19 March 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
