The 2014 is a blend of merlot, cabernet sauvignon, malbec and cabernet franc. You feel every degree of the Osoyoos desert heat, plus every grain of the 20 months spent in French oak in this dense, potent, big red. Gritty tannins backstop its youthful cassis fruit that lifts from the glass pointing to a specific clone of cabernet sauvignon, one with tight, tiny berries and thick skin. Cassis, black cherry is licked with mint before a tight, savoury, warm finish.
