Arcanum 2011

Tuscany, ItalyArcanum is based on cabernet franc, sourced primarily from the sandy clay soils of the Apparita and Belvedere blocks, and is considered the signature grape of the estate. The attraction here is the red fruit floral, violet aromas and raspberry flavours. The 77/14/7/2 blend in 2011 is cabernet franc, merlot, cabernet sauvignon and petit verdot, with one year in 80 percent French oak. The Tenuta di Arceno property resides in the commune of Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the province of Siena, and is now in its thirteenth year under the care of California’s Jackson Family Farms. The palate is dense with sweet round tannins and savoury black cherry jam, plum, tobacco and licorice. The label is inspired by an ancient statue located on the estate, Il Fauno, the mythological Roman god of nature, the countryside and the woods. Viticulturist and winemaker Pierre Seillan is behind the man behind the wine.Tasted: 15 March 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
