Rodney Strong Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015
Knights Valley, Sonoma County, California, United StatesI love the fragrant nose and juicy, soft attack of this wine, reminding me of that in-between Napa and Sonoma character and texture of Knights Valley reds. The appellation is the easternmost in Sonoma County and the county’s warmest viticultural region. Fresh crushed black fruits with bits of spice and chocolate preview a soft, dense, long, mid-palate and an equally fruity palate with surprisingly forgiving tannins. The mineral-rich volcanic soils are evident in the stony undercurrent that holds the finish together. The grapes were harvested at peak ripeness from September 12 through September 28 under ideal conditions and spent 18 months in 100 percent French oak.Tasted: 20 February 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $28.99 | 750ml | Specialty |
