Rodney Strong Chardonnay Sonoma Coast 2015
Sonoma Coast, Sonoma County, California, United StatesWinemaker Justin Seidenfeld is a fan of this Petaluma vineyard and does all he can to reveal its maritime-influenced site. All the fruit comes off a vineyard in the Petaluma Gap which gathers coastal fog and sea breezes late in the afternoon to cool down the air and the grapes. The result is a longer, colder growing season and that leads to more elegance and complexity. It’s mostly barrel fermented in new French oak and some 60 percent is aged 10 months in barrel (85 percent new) adding spice and toasted, creamy, vanilla notes to a green apple, pear lemongrass mix. Ready to drink. Serve with pesto pasta or a Santa Fe chicken salad.Tasted: 06 February 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $35.00 | 750ml | private wine shops |
