Lariana Cellars Fourteen 2014

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFourteen refers to the vintage that these southern Okanagan grapes were harvested. This year is a blend of 63 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 26 percent Merlot (the latter from Naramata Bench), and 11 percent Carmenere. Youthful, strident and structured still, with a firm bracketing of smoked wood and ample extraction. Dense blackberry, cassis, black plums, walnuts, savoury dark chocolate is all ringed with gritty, hard press and bitter edged tannins. Unlike the syrah-blended 2013, which is drinking beautifully now, this will need more time in bottle to shed its standoffish potency.Tasted: 08 December 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
