Lariana Cellars Thirteen 2013

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThirteen signifies 2013, the year this southern Osoyoos fruit was harvested. This year is a blend of cabernet sauvignon, syrah and carmenère, full and dense and flowing on the palate. The syrah is very welcome addition to the blend, making all the difference. The black fruit is scented with camp smoke and toast, but the tannins are softened and pliable, supporting rather than fighting the intense fruit. Anise, black pepper, kirsch, violets, and a hint of savoury medicinal cherry on the finish. Much more elegant than last year, and is drinking very well now, in spite of all its intensity. Pair with roasted meats now if you like, or cellar for a few years for even more smoothing. A well-balanced, elegant, full bodied southern Okanagan red blend : harder to achieve than it sounds.Tasted: 08 December 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
