Mission Hill Perpetua Chardonnay 2015

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA very warm year has yielded a ripe, pear-flavoured chardonnay with plenty of spice and creamy peach fruit. A super-hot 2015 growing season proved to be a good year to shift 25 percent cooler Naramata fruit into this formerly all-Osoyoos chardonnay. That said, it’s a fleshier version of what is normally a tightly wound white. The first Darryl Brooker version explains the much appreciated leesy, mineral Burgundian notes from three separate clones 76, 96 and 548. There is a saving saltiness in the face of less acidity this year to offset the creamy, buttery notes. Yet the creamy ripe pear fruit will be hard for most to resist, and I’m betting it will be a big hit with consumers. Ready to drink soon.Tasted: 05 July 2018Tasted by: Prices:
