Howling Bluff Pinot Noir Summa Quies 2014
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAfter 17 to 21 days of skin contact the wine is pressed off into 30 percent new, 30 percent second fill and 40 percent third fill French oak for one year. The wine is racked back to stainless steel for eight months then bottled and aged for a further 11 months. The nose is cool climate pinot with a savoury strawberry, plum fruit flecked with a touch of brown spice. The attack is fresh, the body light but balanced with a touch of sour cherry in the finish. Warm, dry and food-friendly it finishes with a wisp of smoke.
