Hacienda Lopez de Haro Blanco 2016

Rioja, SpainThis white wine from La Rioja, traditional red wine country, is produced with one hundred percent viura. The vines are old and like most of Spain, the soils are sparse. The grapes are cold-soaked, four to six hours, before they are fermented in French oak barrels for three months. Expect a creamy lemony nose and a fresh citrus mid-palate with notes of pear and a pleasant touch of sandalwood spice in the finish. A modern, clean take on viura with just enough wood to take on a variety of mid-weight dishes. Chicken, fish and cheese all work here. Super value and a wine made and priced for restaurant wine lists.Tasted: 29 August 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
