Beringer Chardonnay 2015
Napa Valley, California, United StatesThis is not your father’s Beringer chardonnay. Some 67 percent is barrel fermented in 33 percent new French oak for eight months. The rest is fermented in stainless steel barrels but just before the freshness turns you inside out, some 80 percent goes through malolactic fermentation adding creamy textures to the mix. The style is fresher than days gone by, though it remains Napa rich mixing citrus and melon with flecks of creamy, leesy, spicy orange notes.
