Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Storm Haven ‘Black’ label is the flagship riesling at Synchromesh, the oldest vines on the best terroir is at the heart of this amazing single vineyard wine that transports me to the Mosel. The site is ideally located to absorb the warm day sun and then bathe in a cool evening katabatic wined off the Peachcliff Mountains. The soils, a mix of clay, granite, gravels and limestone adds to the mystery and complexity of this wine. A long 2016 season made for some fabulous hangtime and fruit purity. Think candied lemons, mangoes, peaches and a minera,l stony undercurrent. You can drink this now or wait a decade or two.
