Agrelo District, Luján de Cuyo, Northern Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaCool black fruit from a warm place, one freshened with altitude and not hemmed in with oak. There is certainly wood here, but it is only 1/3 new, and partially offset by the altitude of three zones of Uco Valley wanting from 1100-1400 miles above sea level.: Vistaflores, Gualtallary, and Altamira. Smoked black and red fruits, anise, perfumed wild blueberries, peppercorns, all amply sunripened, and with the full impact of grainy tannins. Swings of cola are slung across the finish of this warm malbec, one destined to be best encountered with fire grilled beef.Tasted: 19 December 2017Tasted by: Prices:

Agrelo District, Luján de Cuyo, Northern Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaA more streamlined profile in a cooler 2014 with peppery, rosemary/thyme/dried wild herbs fronting notes of licorice and black cherry. The palate is pure savoury black fruit flavours with minimal oak (only 1/3 new) showing through. There is fine freshness and complexity in the finish that calls for grilled meats or a piece of creamy cheese to best enhance the wine and the food. Solid for the price. Malbec Ultra fruit is all Uco Valley from multiple altitudes and soil types in Vistaflores (1,400 m.a.s.l.) Gualtallary (1,300 m.a.s.l) and Altamira (1,100 m.a.s.l.)Tasted: 11 April 2017Tasted by: Prices:
