Cháteau Peyros Madiran Tannat Cabernet Franc 2011

Madiran, Sud-Ouest, FranceAnise, leather, resin and thorns throughout this 60/40 tannat/cabernet franc blend from Madiran. Peyros takes its name from the Gascony word meaning "rocky location", giving a clue to the topography of this site. Savoury rules, with raging tannins hemming in brambled, cedar fruit, seasoned with smoky tobacco, broken stones and medicinal hued black cherry and dried violets to a drying finish. This intrinsically rustic red needs roast beef/roasted root veg to balance.Tasted: 24 February 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
