Emandare Vineyard Siegerrebe Gewurztraminer 2015
Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaEmandare sits on a south-facing terraced hillside tucked beside Cowichan Valley's Mount Prevost. All of their wines are estate grown, and dry farmed organically, with minimal intervention. This is a light, tight and pithy off-dry coastal white that captures the floral aromatic fruitiness of siegerrebe and gewürztraminer without the weight associated with those grapes. Wild yeast ferment and five months on the lees in stainless has created some textural interest, while preserving the bright fruit. Cleansing lime, rosewater, green apple, orange blossom, gooseberry and crunchy Asian pear acidity finish clean and lively with a bitter lime twist.
