Dodgy Bros Grenache, Shiraz, Mataro 2013

McLaren Vale, South Australia, AustraliaFrom Winnipeg to Whistler to Kelowna to Bordeaux, every growing in the wine industry, Wes Pearson ended up in McLaren Vale with his young family in 2008, working as assistant winemaker at Pirramimma before accepting a sensory scientist position at the acclaimed Australian Wine Research Institute. He is one of three Dodgy Brothers, and together they turn out small lots of well-tended wines while holding down their day jobs in the "real world". This GSM is a blend of 70/18/12, from the Sellicks Foothills, Willing and Tatachilla subregions of McLaren Vale. Lovely perfumed black fruit - warm and ripe - throughout. An alluring perfumed red liquorice and black liquorice lifts inky tar, strawberry jam on the lush, seamless palate. Bottled without fining or filtering, there is a depth of flavour that is welcome against the plushness of the wood-framed fruit. 900 cases produced.Tasted: 18 January 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
