Champagne, FranceWow - they're not kidding with the name of this wine. Veuve Rich is certainly that, thick with sugar, sweet dough and orange cream on the luxuriously plump palate. Invented expressly for "mixology" and for all its modernity, this silver clad bottle reaches back to the house's past, 1840s bottles of Veuve Clicquot found recently in the Aland Islands have over 150 grams per liter of sugar. Caramelized sugar, apple butter, creme caramel is thick on the palate, struggling to be met by the rapids of acidity.
