Fitzpatrick Family Vineyards Interloper Gewurztraminer 2015
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaUnmistakably gewürztraminer, this super ripe, round and fleshy white is full of rose petals, peach and melon to a gingersnap finish. A quarter was fermented in neutral oak, and all spent four months on the lees in stainless, upping gew's generosity further - almost too far. Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaWinemaker Sarah Bain is turning heads early with some delicious drinking wine. From Central Otago’s Burn Cottage and Quartz Reef, clearly she has a handle on cool. This 2015 reflects the warm year showing tropical litchi notes and orange on the nose, and it carries across the palate. The finish is off-dry, welcoming favourite curries, Thai dishes, roast turkey or pork. A mix of neutral barrels (25 percent) and stainless steel hosted the ferment and it all spends another four months on lees in stainless steel.Tasted: 28 December 2016Tasted by: Prices:
