Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSoft and plush and ripe and sweet, as merlot is expected to be when it's coming from the the deserts of Osoyoos and picked mid/late October. Eighteen months in French oak further ups the concentration and provides a wooden cradle for the potent fruit, led by inky black plum, ripe blackberry and cassis before tobacco and nutmeg spicing. Heaps of chewy tannins are downy clad, craving rare steak and blue cheese potatoes.Tasted: 02 February 2017Tasted by: Prices:
Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA long warm growing season was useful for all the late ripening reds in 2014 but the merlot needed watching to keep the fruit and the alcohol in check. The nose is bright here, the tannins supple and sweet. Classic clove over plums and cocoa with a dollop of sagebrush. Surprisingly soft already but this will hold over the next five years. Steak frites anyone?Tasted: 11 November 2016Tasted by: Prices:
