Jean-Paul Brun Terres Dorées Beaujolais Blanc 2014

Beaujolais, Burgundy, FranceFrom one of the elder statesmen of Beaujolais, this Beaujolais blanc is a rare example of chardonnay from the limestone soils (Terres Dorées = golden soils) of Beaujolais. Gamay accounts for 99 percent of the grapes grown in Beaujolais, so this is a rare treat and a fantastic value for white Bourgogne. Mineral-rich, with a creamy, green apple, and lees-led core, this echoes with light flint and lingers with fine, strong acid, a hallmark of the limestone soils. A hidden gem, prized by those in the know.Tasted: 04 November 2016Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
